Zimmer discovered a love for acting during her high-school days and was a student at an acting school called the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena. The Dramalogue Award was presented to her for her performance on stage of Catholic School Girls. The beginning of her career on screen saw her guest-starring in many TV series such as The X-Files. The actress played characters who appeared in television series like Hyperion Bay, and in independent movies like Home Room. Her first major character on the show Good Morning Miami. In the following years, she performed regular roles in shows like In Justice Boston Legal or House of Cards. Her portrayal as Dana Gordon on the HBO show Entourage has drawn attention to her. The show also rewarded her with the Critics' Choice Television Award in her role of Quinn King, in Un REAL. As well as playing her character in Entourage, she also appeared in Entourage film, she also appeared on the Run the Tide movie and the Results.
