On July 14, 2014, Nikki Bella was in the same handicap contest as Summer Rae Natalya Eva Marie Rosa Mendes Summer Rae. Ariana only showed up to take on Nikki Bella. On the Battleground Pre-show, Ariana was paired with Naomi. In that match Ariana defeated Naomi. In the end, this led to their rivalry. Both wrestled singles and tag matches during the summer. Between then and 2016, she competed with various fellow wrestlers, including Paige Bella Twins Alicia Fox as well as Asuka. After two months of inactivity, WWE released Ariana from her contract.
